Galia Volel



President



As a project manager, Galia VOLEL combines skills and experiences in development and humanitarian programmes, programme and project planning, development and implementation. After more than 25 years of career in the banking, publishing and international organisations sectors, Galia is one of the founders and the president of AZAKA S.A. where she is investing her skills, experience, and knowledge in agricultural and social business projects. Before pursuing an MBA in Strategic Project Management at Université Laval, Quebec, Galia obtained a bachelor’s degree in science from the École des Hautes Études Commerciales (HEC) and the Université de Montréal, followed by a Graduate's Diploma in Education from the Université de Montréal.



Dimitri Nau



Vice-President



Born and raised in Haiti, Dimitri NAU graduated from Montreal’s McGill University with a B.Sc. in food science and obtained a graduate degree in industrial engineering from Polytechnique Montreal. Dimitri returned to Haiti where he held key managerial positions in industries such as apparel manufacturing, logistics and telecom. Passionate about Haiti, he embarked on a journey into public administration in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake where he served as Chief of Staff to Prime Minister Lamothe. With this experience, Dimitri returned to the private sector as Operations Manager for Heineken. In 2017, Dimitri changed his course with the deep belief that socio-economic development in Haiti can be achieved through responsible entrepreneurship, he decided to dedicate his knowledge and experience to AZAKA. Dimitri is excited about making a difference and is eager to connect with likeminded people to portray Haiti in a new light.



Stéphan jean-pierre



Secretary



Stéphan JEAN-PIERRE has more than 25 years’ experience in agribusiness providing technical assistance to farmers’ associations and private and public institutions. After 2 years as a credit officer at the Société Financière Haïtienne de Développement S.A., he managed the Fédération des Associations Caféières Natives (FACN), representing over 25,000 Haitian coffee growers from 1997 to 2004. He then worked as a coffee sector specialist for the Hillside Agriculture Program (HAP) in Haiti and the Burundi Agribusiness Project. From 2013 to 2017, he was in charge of the post-harvest and marketing component of the USAD Feed the future North project. He is currently a Private Sector Engament Advisor for Catholic Relief Services.

M. Jean-Pierre has participated in the creation of the Haitian National Coffee Institute and is a founding member of the Haitian Canadian Chamber of Commerce and of the Organic Agriculture Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Jean- Pierre received his B.Sc. in Agricultural Economics from Mc Gill University in Montreal, Canada and a Masters in Business Administration from HEC Montreal.​
